Going to Atlanta...

Sorry no blog posts for a while....I've just finished a HUGE project and presentation, an exegetical/theological treatment of Judges 6. So, I've been 'in the weeds' for quite some time. This was my last project ever (I hope!) for RTS! Now, I focus on graduation and ordination exams.

This weekend we'll be speaking briefly during the service at The Vine Community Church in Cumming, GA and hosting a heavy hors d'ouevres lunch right after the 11am service. Drop in if you're in the area!

A different take on Gideon...

Not Thailand, but this is from Dr. Gordon Hugenberger, a professor and pastor who gives an unusual take on Gideon. I really like it, actually.

We just hit 55% of our needed monthly support today. As Steve Lanier would say, "Woohoo!"

The Mission of God

This is a great quote I ran across this weekend...from a book that I haven't read, but that I hope to after seminary:
Mission is not ours; mission is God's. Certainly, the mission of God is the prior reality out of which flows any mission that we get involved in. Or, as has been nicely put, it is not so much the case that God has a mission for His church in the world, but that God has a church for His mission in the world. Mission was not made for the church; the church was made for mission--God's mission.

Redeemer Missions Conference

We have a very busy weekend...our church here in Jackson, Redeemer PCA, is hosting a weekend-long missions conference. We are have a chance to speak multiple times and will be able to talk with interested individuals about prayer and financial partnership. Pray for us as we spend the weekend telling our story!
